Time to Declutter

My house is up for sale right now, so we decided it was time to de-clutter. We had lots of stuff we had brought with us from our previous home, safely stored in various places, but never used where we are now. It was time for them to go.

Several trips to charity shops and the recycling centre, plus the occasional sale on ebay, made our shed and garage look almost empty.

That made me think about our personal lives and how we’re not aware of how much needless clutter we carry around with us. That anger that occasionally flares up, that unforgiveness that rears its ugly head every time we think about a certain person, that deep hurt that still smoulders under the surface.

It’s time now, at the beginning of 2019, to de-clutter our personal lives, to open up and not cover up. We need to leave behind the stuff that is holding us back and step forward into the destiny each of has in God.

As for us, we have all of these great witnesses who encircle us like clouds. So we must let go of every wound that has pierced us and the sin we so easily fall into.  Then we will be able to run life’s marathon race with passion and determination, for the path has been already marked out before us.
